Butler Did It
Jimmy Butler tallied 35 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists to lead the Heat to a 117-112 overtime win over the Hornets. He scored 26 of his points in the second half and overtime, including the Heat’s last eight points in regulation.
It’s the second time Butler has recorded at least 35 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a game for the Heat. The only other players in franchise history with multiple such games are LeBron James (12) and Dwayne Wade (6).
Butler shot 13-15 from the free throw line, the 44th time he’s made at least 10 free throws in a game with the Heat. That breaks a tie with LeBron James for the third-most such games in franchise history:

44 — Jimmy Butler
43 — LeBron James
Including the postseason, the Heat have now played 3,000 NBA games. Their overall record is 1,585-1,415 (.528).
Clint Capela scored 18 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to help lead the Hawks to a 104-95 win over the Sixers. It was his 24th career 20-rebound game, the fourth-most such games among active players:
88 — Andre Drummond
60 — DeAndre Jordan
26 — Rudy Gobert
24 — Clint Capela
It was the 144th time Capela has scored in double figures while shooting at least 70% from the field. That’s tied for the third-most such games among active players:
259 — DeAndre Jordan
218 — Rudy Gobert
144 — Clint Capela
144 — Jonas Valanciunas
A First for Kuzma
The Wizards’ Kyle Kuzma had a Game Score* of 27.9 — the sixth-highest such figure of his career — in a 113-105 win over the Mavericks:
Kuzma recorded game highs in points, rebounds, and assists (tied) for the first time in his career.
* John Hollinger's estimate of a player's total production in a game.
After opening the season with nine straight 30-point games, the Mavericks’ Luka Doncic has failed to reach that mark in either of his last two games. Over than span he’s shooting just 17-50 (34.0%) from the field, 5-19 (26.3%) from 3-point range, and 7-16 (43.8%) from the free throw line.
Jerami Grant posted a Game Score of 24.1 — his best outing as a Trail Blazer — in a 106-95 victory over the Pelicans:
Grant recorded team highs in points, rebounds (tied), and steals. He was also a game-high +20 in his game-high 42 minutes played.
The Blazers have allowed 95 or fewer points in back-to-back games for the first time since Oct. 29 & 30, 2018. The Pelicans had scored at least 100 points in 38 straight games dating back to last season, the second-longest such streak in franchise history.
