NBA Game Notes (Nov. 15, 2022)
Here are the NBA game notes for games that were played on November 15, 2022.
Kings Scorch Nets
The Kings scorched the Nets 153-121 last night. It’s the most points the Nets have allowed in a regulation game since joining the NBA in 1976, and the most points the Kings have scored in a game since Jan. 2, 1993.
The Kings shot 56-94 (59.6%) from the field, including 20-41 (48.8%) from 3-point range. That’s an effective field goal percentage of 70.2%, the third-highest such figure in franchise history.
Terrence Davis had a huge game off the bench for the winners:
31 PTS
9 REB
3 STL
12-16 FG
7-10 3P
Davis’ Game Score* was 32.6, the highest in the NBA by a reserve this season and the highest by a Kings reserve since Kevin Martin on Jan. 3, 2009 (33.8)
* John Hollinger’s estimate of a player’s total production in a game.
Domantas Sabonis recorded 17 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists and did not miss a shot from the field (6-6) or the free throw line (5-5). The last King to make at least five field goals and five free throws in a game without a miss was Lionel Simmons on Feb. 22, 1994.
Sabonis was +44 on the night, matching the highest plus-minus in a game this season. On the flip side, the Nets’ Royce O’Neal was -40, matching the lowest plus-minus in a game this season.
Kevin Durant scored 27 points in the loss. He’s the sixth player in NBA history to open a season with 15 straight 25-point games (a total of seven instances):
Elgin Baylor, 1961-62
Wilt Chamberlain, 1961-62
Chamberlain, 1962-63
Rick Barry, 1966-67
Michael Jordan, 1988-89
Bradley Beal, 2020-21
Kevin Durant, 2022-23
Durant — who was 34 years and 47 days old yesterday — is by far the oldest player in this group. The closest player to him is Bradley Beal, who was 27 years and 217 days old when he accomplished the feat.
Luka Magic
Luka Doncic tallied 35 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and three steals to lead the Mavericks to a 103-101 win over the Clippers. It’s the 25th time Doncic has recorded at least 35 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a game. Only two other players in NBA history have reached that mark before their 25th birthday: Oscar Robertson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Doncic has recorded at least 20 points and five assists in each of his first 13 games this season. He’s one of only four players in NBA history to start a season with at least 13 such games in a row:
Oscar Robertson, 1962-63
Allen Iverson, 2005-06
James Harden, 2017-18
Luka Doncic, 2022-23
Doncic raised his season totals to 447 points, 115 rebounds, and 102 assists. He’s just the fourth player in NBA history to record at least 400 points, 100 rebounds, and 100 assists through his first 13 games of a season (a total of five instances):
Oscar Robertson, 1961-62
Robertson, 1962-63
LeBron James, 2007-08
Russell Westbrook, 2016-17
Luke Doncic, 2022-23
Morant’s 200th Game
The Grizzlies’ Ja Morant appeared in his 200th NBA game last night, recording 36 points, eight rebounds, and three steals in a loss to the Pelicans.
Morant is one of only six players in NBA history to average at least 20 PPG and 7 APG through his first 200 games:
Oscar Robertson
Nate Archibald
Isiah Thomas
Trae Young
Luke Doncic
Ja Morant
Teenage Mutant Ninja Poeltl
The Spurs’ Jakob Poeltl had quite a night, scoring a career-high 31 points to go along with 14 rebounds and five assists in a loss to the Trail Blazers. He made 14 of his 17 shots from the field (82.4%).
Poeltl is just the fourth Spur to record at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a game while shooting 80% from the field since the franchise joined the NBA in 1976:
Gene Banks (Jan. 17, 1985)
David Robinson (March 30, 1991)
Willie Anderson (Jan. 10, 1992)
Jakob Poeltl (Nov. 15, 2022)

Charles Barkley (two times)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
