Here are the NBA game notes for games that were played on November 19, 2022.
Trae Ices Raptors
Trae Young scored 33 points and dished out 12 assists to lead Hawks to a 124-122 overtime win over the Raptors. He now has 410 points and 142 assists for the season. Since the ABA-NBA merger, only three players have matched or exceeded both of those totals through their first 15 games of a season (a total of five instances):
Russell Westbrook (2015-16, 2016-17)
James Harden (2016-17, 2017-18)
Luka Doncic (2019-20)
It’s the 54th time Young has recorded at least 30 points and 10 assists in a game, the fifth-most such games since the ABA-NBA merger:
99 — James Harden
94 — LeBron James
83 — Russell Westbrook
58 — Magic Johnson
54 — Trae Young
The only players in NBA history with more 30-point, 10-assist games through their first five seasons are Oscar Robertson and Nate Archibald.
Haliburton Paces Indiana
The Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton had 22 points, 14 assists, three blocks, and two steals in a 114-113 victory over the Magic. He had an effective field goal percentage of 65.6% for the game, shooting 9-16 from the field with three 3-pointers.
Haliburton is averaging 20.6 PPG and 10.5 APG this season, shooting 40.4% from 3-point range. Only two other players in NBA history have averaged at least 20 PPG and 10 APG with a 3-point field goal percentage of 40% through their first 15 games of a season:
Steve Nash (2006-07)
Chris Paul (2009-10)
The only player in NBA history to average at least 20 PPG and 10 APG through the first 15 games of a season with a higher effective field goal percentage than Haliburton’s 59.0% is Nash in 2006-07 (61.6%).
Historic Company for Embiid
The Sixers’ Joel Embiid tallied 32 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals in a loss to the Timberwolves. He’s averaging 41.3 PPG, 10.3 RPG, and 7.0 APG over his last four games.
Embiid is just the third player since the ABA-NBA merger to average at least 40.0 PPG, 10.0 RPG, and 7.0 APG over a four-game span:
Russell Westbrook (2014-15, 2016-17)
Luka Doncic (2021-22)
Joel Embiid (2022-23)
The only other centers in NBA history to hit those marks over a four-game span are Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
